LOTHAR VAN MIDDELAAR

Having immigrated to New Zealand as a child from The Netherlands, Lothar developed a passion for creative and technical endeavours which he blended for a career in architecture. With a start in architectural draughting which became increasingly design focused, Lothar started Mia Casa Architecture 15 years ago working in a bedroom. Lothar enjoys active outdoor and indoor pursuits with his sons, as well as socialising with live music.

EDWARD NIDDRIE

Senior Designer

Born and bred Aucklander, Edward offers a local aspect to the team. He has a Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree and Master of Architectural (Professional) degree both from Unitec. Previous experience as a truss and frame designer outlines the technical mindset Edward brings to the drawings board and the considered approach he has to design and detailing. Outside of architecture, Edward has an appreciation for classic cars, in particular the classic Mini. The summer months are often spent cruising round in his ’71 Clubman.

JENNIFER LEE

Originally from South Korea, Jennifer moved to Christchurch at an early age where she completed her schooling and architectural studies. While now residing in Auckland, she still considers the garden city home. With a decade of experience in the industry, Jennifer has been involved in a range of commercial and residential projects. She enjoys the unique challenges each project throws her way. After a long day you’ll find Jennifer relaxing on a walk with her dogs, or with a nice glass of pinot in front of the tele.

CHRIS CUETO

Chris was born in the Philippines, raised in Africa, and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in architecture from the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas. He worked for over two decades as an Architect in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and The United States, before immigrating to New Zealand, which he now calls home. An ardent lover of design and creativity (photography, graphic arts, video production), he brings his international experience to Mia Casa as well as his love of learning and fun!

NADIA ZUBOVICH

Having grown up in Russia, Nadia traded the cool Siberian winters for the sunny beaches of New Zealand a few years ago, now settled into her own slice of paradise in East Auckland with her young family.  She brings a keen eye for detail and fresh perspective to all aspects of the office, and is quickly adapting to our sense of humour. Outside of work Nadia loves painting and photography.

RUBY ZANCHI

Originally from the UK, Ruby immigrated with her family in 2011 and has since made East Auckland her home. Bringing a warm and bubbly personality to the team Ruby has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design and is a Florist by trade. In her spare time Ruby, if not working with flowers, will be enjoying the local countryside and beaches with dog Basil.
