Project Description
Perfectly positioned for private north-facing backyard living
Taking design cues from the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, this property is positioned perfectly for a private north-facing backyard living court. Multiple near-flat roofs with wide eaves seek to create a cascade of canopies which appear to be restrained from lifting off by thin steel posts. High windows and varying internal ceiling heights guide visitors down the full length of the dwelling to the sunny living rooms.
The challenge of privatising bedrooms and utility areas was achieved using alcoves and short side hallways. Clad using a boutique long-proportion clay brick, the horizontal proportions of this stylish home are further accentuated using a feature brick band in contrasting colour.
